Our commitment
We take safeguarding extremely seriously. Every member of staff completes safeguarding training as part of their induction (Care Certificate Standard 10) and refreshes annually. Our Safeguarding Lead is [SAFEGUARDING_LEAD_NAME].
What we do
- Robust recruitment, including enhanced DBS checks for every carer.
- Mental Capacity Act and DoLS training for all staff.
- Annual refresher training in safeguarding, equality and dignity.
- A clear whistleblowing policy with no detriment for raising concerns.
- Quarterly safeguarding case review at our governance meeting.
Raising a safeguarding concern
If you have a safeguarding concern about anyone receiving Koinonia care, you can:
- Call us on 020 8665 4239 and ask for the Safeguarding Lead.
- Email [SAFEGUARDING_EMAIL].
- Contact your local Safeguarding Adults Team — every English local authority has one.
- Call the Police on 999 if there is immediate risk of harm.
If you're worried about a child
Contact the local authority's Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) for the area where the child lives. The NSPCC helpline is also available 24/7 on 0808 800 5000.
